Hi friends,

Twenty years from now when people ask you; "Where were you during the 2006 Great Immigrant March on DC?" you definitely
don't want to say you were in a meeting. Clear your schedule! Go to the National Mall on Monday, April 10th!

That's this Monday, 4PM on the National Mall (on 7th street in front of the Hirschhorn Museum--the round building). (Due to size of rally, it is no longer at the Washington Monument). Smithsonian Metro stop is the closest.

There is an "Amigos del Barrio" feeder march from Malcolm X in Mount Pleasant starting at 2PM so if you have more time and can walk down, please do! The crowd is expected to be largely Latino workers and families but PLEASE, lets rally the non-Latino solidarity as well.

I just got back from an organizers meeting and they are psyched and expecting large crowds, with people coming in from all over the country. They are totally committed to a peaceful presence. There will be safety marshalls, first aid, even port-a-potties so fear not. You can rally in comfort. :-)

Come protest mean-spirited anti-immigrant legislation and add your voice to the call for legalization and worker rights!
The Senate is still wrangling over which version of immigrant legislation it will produce so now is a GREAT time to show your support for a humane and sensible solution.

This showed up in my inbox today. I'm so glad I asked off of work a couple of weeks ago and can be there con fuerza! I'll be green-hatting it, hope all of ya'll can make it too! I asked my buddy at the tienda if they were going to be there and he was like, "of course." Allowed that one person might stay and mind the store but I think this one is going to be freaking huge and awesome.
